Thanks to its magnificent location, Maccagno is one of the pearls
of Lake Maggiore.
On one side of it there is the lake, on the other green valleys.
While only little more than two thousand people live here, the town spans
a large surface, all the way to Lago Delio.
The Giona River splits the town in two halves – Maccagno
Superiore and Maccagno Inferiore, which originated from the merging of
the five comuni
that originally occupied this territory.
The eight fractions in which the town is divided add value and
make it dynamic, while maintaining its unique characteristics.
